First Newspaper for the Young Minds, launched in Assam

Assam : The times of COVID led to a country-wide closure and created havoc and
impacted our lives significantly. But the ones who were majorly affected were
the small children. It was observed that the screen time of these kids increased
enormously. According to a news published in the Economic Times, the screen
time of kids belonging to the age group of 5-15 years has shot up by 100%!
An excessive amount of screen time leads to dryness in eyes and a lack of
concentration among kids.

But now here's the good news!
Meet Neelam Sethia and Neha Bajaj, Guwahati-based entrepreneurs, who
launched a newspaper, 'Young Minds,' especially for kids. It is known to be the
first newspaper for kids in Assam!"When we saw our kids spending so much time in 
front of the screen, we were deeply concerned. When we looked up on the internet for 
a newspaper for kids, we found out that there was none, and this is how we came up with 
this idea of launching a weekly newspaper for kids", Bajaj said in an interview.
Sethia added that this newspaper would develop kids' holistically and nurture
the habit of reading among kids in this digital era.

About ‘The Young Minds’
This weekly newspaper will cater to the kids aged 4 – 14 years. It will include
exciting activities like games, quizzes, facts, puzzles, vocabulary and experiments of science and maths, and even storytelling. The newspaper will
provide a platform for young kids to publish their writeups, art, and participate in any contests.

The team behind Young Minds
As we know already, Young Minds is the brainchild of a duo Neelam Sethia and
Neha Bajaj, but there are other people as well, who are involved in making this
a reality! As far as the content, designing, and marketing aspects are concerned, a digital
marketing agency named 'The Virtual String' took charge of it.The first copy of The Young 
Minds is set to release in November, but the same
subscription is open now.
