New Delhi : Growing up in the heart of Sahyadris, the Western mountain range of India, Nitin picked up the basics of photography from his father who, although a doctor by occupation, was a passionate amature photographer. Nitin’s work is mainly concerned with helping individuals and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being. It aims to help people develop their skills and their ability to live contributive lives.

On World Photography Day Nitin Upadhey will share his Experience, Thought and Future plans with Achhakaam.com viewers live. Be with us.

Empowering people especially children :

Nitin is a native of village of Devrukh in Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra. After Nitin finished college his friends helped him find apprenticeship with some of India's top professional photographers where he polished his craft and picked up some business skills too. After a brief stint in photojournalism with some of India's leading business publications, he worked as a freelancer in the mainstream advertising and fashion industry for a few years before he encountered people and philosophy that convinced him to dedicate his art and life for contributing to the solutions of the challenges faced by humanity. The decision led him to become a documentary photographer and later a documentary film maker, finally founding a production company that is focused and devoted to the cause of contribution to empowerment of people, especially children. He has worked with Going to school project with Lisa Heydlauff. He is developing learning programs for children living in conflict, on using art, photography and film making as a means for value creation.
