Sonu Sood launched job mobile app “Pravasi Rojgar” for migrant workers
Popular actor Sonu Sood, has catapulted to the national spotlight for his work in helping migrants reach their homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. After sending thousands of migrants to their native place, actor has launched a mobile app, Pravasi Rojgar with an aim to assisting migrants to search job. This mobile app provides all the necessary information and links to find jobs for migrant workers, who had safely returned to their native place.
A media report quoted Sonu saying in a statement, “Lot of thinking, planning and preparation have gone into designing this initiative over the last few months, in order to ensure that it is holistic and builds on the work already being done in the country. Extensive consultations have been held with top organisations that are involved at the grassroots level in skilling and placing the youth below the poverty line, NGOs, philanthropic organisations, government functionaries, strategy consultants, technology startups and above all the returned migrants whom I have helped.”Sources revealed that around 500 companies from various sectors like construction, security, automobile,healthcare, engineering, BPOs, e-commerce and logistics etc. are going to offer job opportunities on the portal.
In another move, Actor Sonu Sood on Thursday announced he will arrange travel of 39 children, between ages one to five, from Philippines to New Delhi for their liver transplant surgery.
